Pianist

Pianist Catrine Frølund is known for her lyrical expression and Nordic sound aesthetic, including in her own trio. For many years she has been a regular "side woman" for a number of singers, for whom Catrine creates an open and poetic musical space with melodic clarity and presence. As part of the Nordic collective Sisters of Jazz, she helps spotlight women's contributions to jazz history with dynamic and energetic live performances. Free admission.

Stadsbiblioteket

The band Sisters of Jazz celebrates the hidden, forgotten, and successful women in jazz who stand behind some of our most beloved jazz standards over the years, including Dorothy Fields, Nancy Hamilton, Marian McPartland, Kay Swift, and Mary Lou Williams. The orchestra honors female jazz vocalists, but also instrumentalists, composers, and lyricists.
