You can feel the expansiveness of a cathedral in Adolphus Hailstork’s joyful Sonata da Chiesa.

And we offer three very different prayers: Carson Cooman’s meditative Prayer of St. Ambrose, Alan Hovhaness’s mystical Prayer of St. Gregory and Joaquin Turina’s fiery Prayer of the Bullfighter.

Artistry in Action: Faculty Brass Quintet 2023

Launched in 2022 as we considered what it means to be together after the isolation of the pandemic, the project matches composers and Boston-based ensembles to create short pieces with a solo for each player before all the artists once again perform as a group.
