The Desert Community Orchestra will perform Nations, Narratives, and Cultures concert at Burrough High School Parker Performing Arts Center. The concert will present powerful musical voices of Europe and the Americas, highlighting nation-building and cultural identity through iconic orchestral works. Featured is Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, The Unfinished Symphony, Danzón No. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, a celebrated symbol of Mexican music and culture. Sibelius’s Finlandia, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, and Brahms’s Hungarian Dance No. 5.

Andrew Loveland, from Los Angeles California, will be conducting. He is a Guatemalan-American cellist and conductor from Los Angeles, CA. With over ten years of performing and teaching experience, Mr. Loveland brings a unique experience to his interpretations and performances on the podium.

The Göppingen Youth Symphony Orchestra is one of the ensembles offered by the Göppingen Municipal Youth Music School. It has won prizes in numerous competitions and is regularly invited to take part in international festivals. At the IX New York International Music Festival in Carnegie Hall, the Göppingen Youth Orchestra was awarded the gold medal. The ensemble has been featured on radio and television on numerous occasions. The conductor has been Martin Gunkel, City Music Director since 1989. The ensemble aims to promote children and young people's musical development and offer them the opportunity to play sophisticated orchestral music through the development of traditional and modern orchestral works. Furthermore, national prizewinners of the "Jugend musiziert" competition are given the opportunity to perform as soloists in concerts. Concert tours and international youth exchanges have taken the Göppingen Youth Symphony Orchestra to Spain, France, Norway, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Latvia, Great Britain, and the USA on numerous occasions.

The Fiato Quartet, winner of the 2022 Beverly Hills National Auditions, was formed in 2008. Its members are Carrie Kennedy and Joel Pargman, violins, Aaron Oltman, viola and Ryan Sweeney, cello. They hold degrees in music performance from the USC, Rice University, Northwestern University, and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. They each have active concert careers throughout Southern California as members of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale, Pasadena Symphony, Long Beach Symphony, New West Symphony, and Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra. Summer, energy, passion – Gustavo Dudamel and the Berliner Philharmoniker invite you to a end-of-season concert at the Waldbühne. The Venezuelan conductor performed at this venue back in 2008 under the motto Los ritmos de la noche. It was his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker, and was met with great acclaim by the audience. Dudamel now celebrates the end of the season with the orchestra in the open air for the fourth time. The programme will include rousing dances from Bernstein’s musical West Side Story, in which Latin American sounds and rhythms are all-pervasive.

Join the Rockford Symphony Orchestra for a captivating evening celebrating the rich history of immigration in Rockford through the powerful performance of "Ellis Island: Dream of America." This concert will feature cinematic music intertwined with poignant excerpts from the diaries of immigrants who passed through Ellis Island, composed by Peter Boyer.

Guest Conductor Michael  Stanley illustrates ways in which folk music has influenced classical composers, the basis for some of their most popular works. Inspired by American folk music, Copland wrote Appalachian Spring; Márquez drew from the dance music of  Mexico in  Danzon No. 2.  Dvořák took inspiration from spirituals and Native American music for his New World Symphony.

Launched over twenty years ago as a pilot project and since 2008 an integral part of the movement initiated by the German Orchestra Association, Jeunesses Musicales Germany and the Association of German Music Schools under the name "tutti pro", the joint concerts of the Philharmonic and the Music and Art School are a central element of Jena's music education, which can finally start again after a five-year break. Young talents from the Youth Symphony Orchestra play side by side with the professional musicians. The unlimited music-making experience builds a bridge between high culture, the young musicians and the audience. It inspires everyone involved equally, awakens the joy of making music together and allows the sensual power of music to be felt up close.

The CSO welcomes everyone to our performances, but we know that some families hesitate to bring their family members to a live concert without knowing how they might react. Our All-Accessible Concert is designed to be a safe and accepting environment where patrons with disabilities or sensory sensitivities along with their family members are free to speak and move in reaction to the music being played. This concert features our full orchestra in the concert hall setting.
