Maria Callas is brought back to life in this 1995 Broadway play, inspired by the legendary series of master classes given by the opera diva at Juilliard toward the end of her career. The full-length drama puts her center stage again as she coaxes, prods, and inspires students – "victims" as she calls them – into giving the performances of their lives while revealing the disappointments in her own life and her relationship with the shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis. Regarded as “rich, vivid,” and “satisfying” by The New York Times, and a “total triumph” by the Star-Ledger, this classic production comes to life in Aspen’s historic Wheeler Opera House.
