Join us for an enchanting evening of music as Emmett Conway showcases his mastery on the horn at the Northwestern Bienen School of Music. This captivating student recital will take place on Friday, May 3, 2024, at 6:00pm CDT in the stunning Galvin Recital Hall. Emmett, a talented Bachelor of Music student under the tutelage of Gail Williams and Jonathan Boen, will be accompanied by Hannah Hsu on violin, Michael Ayala and Susanna Bobbs on viola, and Kay Kim on piano.

The program promises a journey through classical music with selections from J.S. Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007, Robert Schumann's Adagio and Allegro, Op. 70, W.A. Mozart's Horn Quintet in E-flat Major, K. 407, and Franz Strauss's Les Adieux Romance. This event is a celebration of musical artistry, set against the backdrop of the Galvin Recital Hall's breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Maya Norman is a horn player based in Pittsburgh, PA and is currently in the second year of her masters degree here at Carnegie Mellon University, studying horn performance. In 2018 she graduated from University of the Pacific, and spent the years before starting graduate school building up a private studio of students and freelancing in the greater California bay area. She is a student of Stephen Kostyniak, and has frequently studied with other PSO members during her time here in Pittsburgh including Robert Lauver and William Caballero.

Student Recital: Maya Norman

Graduation recitals display the skill and passion of Curtis Institute of Music students on the cusp of professional musicianship. Members of the current class will share the breadth of their talent through a culminating graduation recital. Admission requires advance registration and is complimentary.
