### Beethoven’s Inadvertent Masterpiece

Join us for an exquisite afternoon of chamber music presented by the Society for Chamber Music in Rochester. The concert will feature Beethoven’s grand Septet in E-flat major, Op. 20, a masterpiece that showcases the composer’s brilliance. This performance will be preceded by two captivating French works: Darius Milhaud’s Suite for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano, Op. 157b, and Camille Saint-Saëns’ Bassoon Sonata, Op. 168. Additionally, we are thrilled to present a beautiful piece by Eastman-trained oboist Elizabeth Raum, Romance for Horn and Piano, for the first time on an SCMR concert.

- **Elizabeth Raum:** Romance for Horn and Piano (5 minutes)

We are thrilled to welcome to our stage Metropolitan Opera Orchestra trombonist Denson Paul Pollard for not just one, but two spectacular bass trombone solos with the orchestra. We will also play Sibelius’s charming Karleia Suite, and we get down to some unfinished business with Schubert’s famous Unfinished Symphony.

Brass Choir Concert

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Kennedy Center/National Symphony Orchestra National Trustees Summer Music Institute, a four-week festival of orchestral and chamber music for young people ages 15–20 at the Kennedy Center.

This performance is a recital of chamber music performed by musicians of the Institute.

Hunter Kane is a tubist based in Pittsburgh, PA and is currently a second-year graduate student pursuing his Master of Music in Tuba Performance at the Carnegie Mellon School of Music. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Hunter graduated from Louisiana State University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He is a student of Craig Knox of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
