Working with world-renowned choreographers, this company refuses to conform to norms of age, gender, and ability, posing questions and identifying new standards of virtuosity and beauty. These performances will mark Aterballetto's West Coast premiere.

Crystal Pite’s audience favorite Emergence returns after a six-year hiatus!
“Like the best works of art, it transforms its audience, as well as its participants,” says The Seattle Times of Emergence. This mesmerizing piece is accompanied by Jerome Robbins’ intimate Afternoon of a Faun, Marco Goecke’s solo work Mopey, and a World Premiere from PNB dancer and choreographer Price Suddarth. Each of these choreographers pushes the boundaries of dance with their own unique vision, and are especially remarkable when juxtaposed with one another.

Two new pieces by two of The Soraya’s most popular choreographers will mark the return of The Soraya’s resident dance company. The evening will include Chamber and an all-new work by the company’s Artistic Director Medhi Walerski, and Frontier, a new piece by Crystal Pite. Pite received acclaim for the premiere of The Statement, which was performed at The Soraya in 2022. Walerski’s work also returns to The Soraya following his wildly popular Romeo + Juliet in the 2019-20 Season.

, a star on the international dance scene. This is a unique pas de deux in which the two dancers are joined together with a belt, fusing their bodies together as one. This genre-breaking choreographer’s work is set to an eclectic compilation of music by contemporary artists as well as original music by Forest Swords, whose atmospheric music brings together hip hop, dub, guitar loops and electronic sampling for a rhythmic, avant-garde sound.

Do Not Run Fly builds imaginary landscapes in an attempt to understand a world that is constantly changing. NDT 1 presents two new creations by choreographers Marcos Morau and Yoann Bourgeois and presents one evergreen from the oeuvre of Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), Solo Echo (2012) by associate choreographer Crystal Pite.

Back by popular demand, Crystal Pite’s mesmerizing The Seasons’ Canon features 54 dancers moving as one organism to Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, recomposed by Max Richter. Pite’s opus is complemented by Twyla Tharp’s Shaker-inspired Sweet Fields and Jessica Lang’s stunning solo work, The Calling.

A 50th Anniversary coup! This collection of innovative ballets beautifully demonstrates the vast landscape from which choreographic creativity can spring. PNB is thrilled to be the second company to present Crystal Pite’s The Seasons’ Canon, which joins Emergence and Plot Point in PNB’s expanding collection of Pite works. The Seasons’ Canon shares the bill with a world premiere by international choreographer and artistic director of Complexions Contemporary Ballet Dwight Rhoden, and George Balanchine’s musically-modeled Duo Concertant.
