Jason Robert Brown is an American-Jewish musical theatre composer and playwright. Brown's music sensibility fuses pop-rock stylings with theatrical lyrics. He is the recipient of three Tony Awards for his work on Parade and The Bridges of Madison County.

Winner of 10 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score, this production tells the story of an Egyptian Police Band that, due to a mix-up at the border, finds themselves in a remote Israeli village. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, the band members are taken in by the locals, leading to unexpected and touching connections under the desert sky.
