Michael Gurt will perform in a USA Piano Camp Faculty Recital on Thursday, June 27 at 3:00 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. Concentrating on repertoire more recent than typical classical piano music, this year's Piano Camp will feature works written for the piano since 1940. Music on the recital will include works composed by Elliott Carter, Liduino Pitombeira, and Dinos Constantinides

Cellist Alisa Horn and pianist Michael Gurt will lead us on a treasure hunt for beautiful, mostly unknown romantic sonatas, some by women and some by men. Composers are Ernest Bloch, Dora Pejacevic, Nicolai Miaskovsky, Henriëtte Bosmans, and Luise Adolpha Le Beau. Please join us for a grand adventure in music!

Works performed will include Nino Rota's Clarinet Sonata in D major, Kenji Bunch's Four Flashbacks, and Paul Schoenfeld's Trio for Clarient, Violin, and Piano.
