Celebrate the holiday season with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra's "Christmas Brass" event, a spectacular showcase of holiday hymns and carols performed by Northern Colorado's most talented brass section. Under the expert direction of Dr. Ken Singleton, experience the power and beauty of resounding trumpets and triumphant horns in intimate settings across Northern Colorado. This joyful event is set to take place on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 9:00 PM.

The performances will feature a rich repertoire that includes classics such as Anderson's "A Christmas Festival," Haydn's "Achieved is the Glorious Work" from The Creation, and Handel's "Joy to the World," among other beloved pieces. The concert series will visit Windsor First United Methodist Church on December 14th, Fort Morgan United Methodist Church on December 15th, and Greeley First United Methodist Church on December 16th, ensuring audiences across the region can partake in the festivities.

Balanchine’s deep affection for his adopted home animates this program of ballets all set to American music. Western Symphony is a vivacious suite of dances taking inspiration from the mythical Wild West. A similarly buoyant spirit infuses Stars and Stripes, with Balanchine seamlessly wedding classical steps with the rhythmic marches of John Philip Sousa, orchestrated by Hershey Kay. Tarantella employs a sprightly piece of music by Louis Moreau Gottschalk for a zesty and playful pas de deux that never fails to delight. Rounding out the program is The Unanswered Question from Ivesiana, a hypnotically alluring dance that captures the haunting, otherworldly music of Charles Ives.

A Memo from the Maestro: Come home for the Holidays with the LSO, as our wonderful Symphony is united with another cherished arts organization in our community!  In our La Crosse Symphony tradition, the Orchestra will be joined by the full corps de ballet from Misty Lown's Ballet La Crosse, enjoy the splendor of a fully-choreographed performance of the greatest moments from Tchaikovsky's THE NUTCRACKER!  A rare event and the ultimate Holiday program!
