Composer Randy Klein brings his distinctive style to vocal settings on four of Margaret Walker’s greatest poems, including her most famous, “For My People.” Valerie Coleman’s composition for the poetry of Sonia Sanchez blends the voices of two artists separated by three generations, and Copland’s infectious Rodeo brings the evening home.
