Back by popular demand, James Taylor returns to the Frost stage. Taylor’s music embodies the art of songwriting in its most personal and universal forms. In 1971, Taylor was on the cover of Time magazine, heralded as the harbinger of the singer-songwriter era.  Five decades later, his warm baritone, introspective lyrics and unique style of guitar playing still blaze a path to which young musicians aspire. Taylor has sold more than 100 million albums, earning gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards since the release of his self-titled debut album in 1968. He has won multiple Grammy Awards, has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll and the prestigious Songwriters Halls of Fame and was honored by The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences as a MusiCares Person of the Year.

We commemorate the legacy of those who participated in the Normandy Invasion of World War II in this musical memorial honoring our nation’s heroes, those who made the ultimate sacrifice in securing liberty and justice for all.  A date that lives in memory, June 6 is observed every year in Normandy, France as the military action by the Allies that started the end of the brutal second world war.  Joining Choral Artists is the Lakewood Ranch Wind Ensemble in this concert, highlighting music of poignant compassion and reflection that Choral Artists will be presenting in Normandy, France as invited musical guests for the 80th anniversary of D-Day in June, 2024.

In the expansive landscape of the American West, a young student named Matthew Shepard was brutally beaten and left to die on a fence in Wyoming.  In the aftermath of this heinous act, a national conversation regarding bullying and homophobia took center stage. What is so terrifying about ‘the other’ that creates such division and hatred?  Craig Hella Johnson takes us on a musical journey that tells the story of Matt, a young man whose rather ordinary and typical life has left an extraordinary legacy for us to consider.

Inspired by current events of 1914, poet Vachel Lindsay wrote Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight – a moving depiction of the famous President troubled by the tragedies of the modern world.  Florence Price, African-American composer of the 20th Century, set this dramatic poem in her lifetime but the score was lost for almost 50 years.  Only recently discovered, Choral Artists will be presenting the Florida premiere of this exciting work for soloist, chorus and full orchestra.  Paired with the work will be the Lord Nelson Mass by Joseph Haydn, one of his most revered choral works.  The original title was Mass in a Time of Anguish and the pairing of these two works is a reflection of our own time – a time of anguish and uncertainty.

Hear enduring classics from the American rock ’n' roll songbook, including Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” James Taylor’s “Your Smiling Face,” and Paul Simon’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and “The Sound of Silence,” as well as over a dozen more unforgettable hits.

Audiences will marvel at the versatility of Taylor Simon King’s sensational band and fall in love with its three powerhouse vocalists’ renditions of these classic hits.

Their personal and professional lives intertwine with songs like “Mockingbird", “You’re So Vain", “Anticipation", and “You’ve Got a Friend", and their music and lives are celebrated by three performers with their own impressive resumes.
