The Olympia Symphony presents a family-friendly concert introducing orchestra instruments to kids in a fun, Olympic-style format with The Orchestra Games! This educational performance showcases the unique personalities of the strings, woodwinds, and brass, with the percussion section as judges and a narrator as the official "ref".

The concert concludes with a surprise performance of classic video game music from Super Mario!

Join us for an enchanting evening of music as Alessandra Liebman takes the stage at the Mary B. Galvin Recital Hall. This captivating horn recital is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 6:00pm CDT, showcasing the talents of Bachelor of Music student Alessandra Liebman, under the tutelage of Gail Williams and Jonathan Boen. 

The performance will feature a diverse repertoire, including Jean Françaix's Canon in Octave, Trygve Madsen's Sonata for Horn and Piano, Op. 24, Catherine Likhuta's I Threw a Shoe at a Cat, Dorothy Gates' Imaginings, Alec Wilder's 6X4: 6 Pieces for 4 Horns, and selections from Super Mario Galaxy arranged by Alessandra Liebmann herself. Joining Alessandra on stage will be fellow horn players Miranda Smith, Eden Stargardt, and Dena Levy, with Kay Kim on piano.

This event is free and open to the public, with no tickets required. It will also be available via live stream for those who cannot attend in person. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the exceptional talent of Alessandra Liebman and her colleagues in the stunning setting of the Galvin Recital Hall, located at 70 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston, IL 60208. The hall, part of the Ryan Center for the Musical Arts, is renowned for its acoustic excellence and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline.
