Join us for an unforgettable evening of musical brilliance as the Long Beach Symphony presents "Musical Fusion with Arturo Sandoval" on March 8, 2025, at the Long Beach Terrace Theater. This exceptional concert, under the baton of Music Director Eckart Preu, will showcase the extraordinary talents of ten-time GRAMMY Award winner Arturo Sandoval, a master of both jazz and classical trumpet.

The evening kicks off at 7:30 PM, with doors opening at 6:00 PM and a special pre-concert talk at 6:30 PM, offering insights into the night's programming. The concert will take place at the Long Beach Terrace Theater, located at 300 E. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802.

The program begins with Adam Schoenberg’s "Cool Cat," a vibrant piece inspired by Los Angeles' own P22 mountain lion, followed by George Gershwin’s "Cuban Overture," a tribute to Sandoval’s Cuban heritage that blends Cuban rhythms with Gershwin's flair. Paul Hindemith’s "Symphonic Metamorphosis" will then showcase the orchestra's versatility, leading into the highlight of the evening, Sandoval’s own "Concerto for Trumpet No. 2." The concert concludes with a touching rendition of Rachmaninoff’s "Themes from Piano Concerto No. 2," arranged by Bob Barrett.

This evening promises to be a harmonious fusion of genres and emotions, captivated by Sandoval's virtuosity on the trumpet, piano, and through his engaging storytelling.
