Four years after its originally-scheduled PNB premiere, Alejandro Cerrudo’s complete One Thousand Pieces will finally take to the McCaw Hall stage. Cerrudo’s large-scale ensemble work is inspired by the work of artist Marc Chagall and features music from Philip Glass. Paired with the revelry and joy of Matthew Neenan’s made-for-PNB Bacchus.

As we celebrate the close of our 40th season, join us on August 2nd for a unique lineup. While the last concert of the season is always bittersweet, this evening will feature works from Handel to Alexander Desplat, and John Williams. We will hear Rodrigo’s famous guitar concerto, Concerto de Aranjuez, in this special transcription for Harp and Orchestra by returning guest artist, and Juilliard-trained, Bridget Kibbey. The second half opens with a new ballet choreographed by Madison Ballet Artistic Director Ja’ Malik with music by Oliver Davis Dance Odyssey. The concert closes with toe tapping film score favorites including Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars, and Little Women. In the final production of our 50th Anniversary Season, we turn our eyes to the future. This mixed bill features choreographers on the cutting edge, who help us imagine what ballet may become over the next century. What voices will be featured? Whose stories will be told? Discover the beginnings of answers in world premiere works from Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Kiyon Ross, as well as the on-stage premiere of Edwaard Liang’s innovative take on human connection, The Veil Between Worlds.
