Experience the mesmerizing power of Hector Berlioz's masterpiece, "Symphonie Fantastique," performed by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. This captivating event will unfold over four nights, from Thursday, January 23, to Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the prestigious Meyerson Symphony Center. Each performance promises to be a journey through opulent orchestral colors and dramatic effects, telling the fantastic story of a love-sick hero's drug-induced visions, from a glittering ball to the march to the scaffold and a demonic Witches’ Sabbath.

Under the baton of the dynamic Giedrė Šlekytė, making her DSO premiere, the orchestra will bring to life Berlioz's innovative score, alongside Strauss’s melodious Oboe Concerto featuring the exceptional talents of Principal Oboe, Erin Hannigan. This event is not just a concert but an exploration of passion, dreams, and nightmares, all conveyed through Berlioz's revolutionary music.

Performances are scheduled for 7:30pm on January 23, 24, and 25, with a matinee at 3:00pm on January 26. This series is a highlight of the DSO's 24/25 season, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the genius of Berlioz, as well as the contemporary work "Heliosis" by Hannah Eisendle, adding a modern touch to the classical repertoire.

The PSO’s season features works inspired by the natural world: Beethoven’s “Pastoral” you can hear bucolic bird calls, the rolling of thunder, and the calling of a shepherd’s pipes from distant hills. Habibi’s new work was written as a meditation on climate change. Eisendle’s Heliosis, from the Greek word for the sun, is in turn blistering, scorching, and shimmering.
