Enterprise as IPO takes you on an auditory adventure with Star Trek Through The Years (arranged by Calvin Custer), a compilation of some of the series’ most notable musical pieces. Adventures on Earth contributes to this out of this world evening, as does the closing number, Gustav Holst’s The Planets which takes the audience on a  journey throughout all the known planets of the Solar System seen from Earth at the time of its writing, and their corresponding astrological character. Immerse yourself in the enchanting melodies of cinema at the "Love Letter to Hollywood, Vol 1." event, presented by the Monterey Symphony. This captivating concert series is set to take place at the picturesque Forest Theater, located at Santa Rita Street and Mountain View Ave, Carmel-by-the-Sea. Mark your calendars for two consecutive evenings of musical magic on September 5 and 6, 2023, both starting at 6:30 PM.

Under the baton of Associate Conductor Brad Hogarth, the symphony will bring to life some of Hollywood's most iconic scores. The program features a diverse range of compositions, from the rousing "The Magnificent Seven Symphonic Suite" by Elmer Bernstein to the timeless beauty of "Moon River" by Henri Mancini, and the adventurous spirit of "The Adventures of Robin Hood" by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. Not to be missed are contemporary classics such as the "Black Panther Suite" by Ludwig Göransson and the heartwarming "Married Life" from Pixar's Up by Michael Giacchino.

Audience members are encouraged to dive into the spirit of Hollywood by donning costumes inspired by their favorite films. This unique touch promises to add an extra layer of excitement and engagement to the evening.

Tickets are priced at $57, with a special discounted rate of $12 for students, teachers, and active-duty military personnel, making this event accessible to all who share a love for film and music.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, George Lucas and John Williams embarked on a journey that would enchant generations of movie-goers, and would go on to become one of the most successful and influential franchises in all of motion picture history. LSO will perform selections from all three trilogies in the Skywalker Saga, and music from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and The Mandalorian. The program also features Nicholas Li, the winner of LSO’s Young Artist Competition, performing the first movement of Elgar’s Cello Concerto.

Experience the heartwarming story of Disney Pixar's "Coco" like never before, with a screening of the complete film accompanied by its Oscar and Grammy-winning musical score performed live by the MSO. The film's original score, composed by Michael Giacchino, along with the Oscar-winning song "Remember Me" by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and additional songs co-written by Germaine Franco and co-director/screenwriter Adrian Molina, will come to life in this unique cinematic and musical experience.

"Coco" tells the story of young Miguel, who dreams of becoming an accomplished musician despite his family's mysterious ban on music. His journey takes him to the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead, where he uncovers the real story behind his family's history. This touching tale of family, dreams, and the power of music is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
