Kurt Rosenwinkel is one of the most innovative guitarists of the last 30 years. Saxophonist Mark Turner and drummer Jeff Ballard are also members of the magnificent trio Fly and the SFJAZZ Collective; Ben Street is one of the most sought-after double bass players today.

In 1997, drummer and composer Brian Blade formed The Fellowship Band with pianist and composer Jon Cowherd. The band members are saxophonists Myron Walden and Melvin Butler, bassist Christopher Thomas and guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel. Over the 26 years that the band has existed, they have released seven recordings. Their debut, FELLOWSHIP in 1998, PERCEPTUAL in 2000, SEASON OF CHANGES in 2008, LANDMARKS in 2014, BODY AND SHADOW in 2017, LIVE FROM THE ARCHIVES in 2022 and KINGS HIGHWAY in 2023.

With a career that began in the 1990s as a sideman with such singular artists as Gary Burton, Joe Henderson, and Paul Motian—and that now includes explorations of Brazilian music, electro-acoustic programming, the music of Chopin, and so much more—Rosenwinkel’s artistry is defined equally by his appetite for invention as it is his unbelievable playing. He now leads his own band in this extremely exciting Carnegie Hall debut.
