Tamala ("travelers") brings together three personalities who draw their creativity from the rich heritage of Senegal, a music with complex rhythms and captivating scales. Mola Sylla, a Senegalese griot, sings with the power of the heart and plays the xalam (lute), as well as other traditional instruments. Appreciated for the groove of his compositions, Bao Sissoko is an undisputed master of the kora, the large West African harp. Together with the folk violinist Wouter Vandenabeele, they create a natural musical alchemy, crowned in 2017 with an Octave of Music and the Klara Award for the best Belgian world music album.
