When classical music meets folk music, it results in a delightful contrast that gives its name to this ensemble created in 2000 by talented classical artists, including Jean-Luc Votano, the principal clarinetist of the OPRL. With the collaboration of Albane Carrère on vocals, the Mitteleuropa project (Central Europe) brilliantly illustrates the approach of composers like Mahler, Bloch, Bartók, or Prokofiev, who drew inspiration from Jewish or Gypsy folk music to create some of their works.
