The Morgante Concerto is dedicated to the trailblazing Black conductor, Michael Morgan (1957-2021). We explore the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, Danzon no. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Marquez and a world premiere by SBSO's new Composer-in-Residence, Fernando Arroyo.

Deeply influenced by the rich tradition of Argentinian music, Camarada will perform a captivating program to include two recently commissioned ensemble pieces by Argentinian-born composer Andrés Martín, and an outstanding solo work for double bass composed and performed by Mr. Martín.
