Join us for a special program curated by SPCO violinist Nina Tso-Ning Fan, which features a thrilling collaboration with Twin Cities-based mezzo-soprano Clara Osowski, a local award-winning artist revered world-wide for singing "from inside the music with unaffected purity and sincerity" (UK Telegraph). As the featured soloist on Franz Schubert’s dazzling Rondo in A, Fan will open this concert that contrasts light and dark with several works by Schubert and Ottorino Respighi’s Il tramonto (The Sunset) for Voice and String Quartet. The program closes with a youthful Symphony by Schubert.

Korean-born Canadian cellist Eric Han made his concerto debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14. Following his debut, he had many engagements with Toronto Sinfonietta, Toronto Chamber Players and Boston’s Symphony by the Sea. As a guest artist and Artist in Residence, Han has participated at various festivals including the Moritzburg Festival, La Jolla SummerFest, Music@Menlo and Sarasota Music Festival, among others. Han studied with David Hetherington at the Glenn Gould School, and holds a Bachelor of Music from the Colburn School of Music under the tutelage of Ronald Leonard. Han is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where he studied with Peter Wiley and Carter Brey. Han plays on a cello made by Frank Ravatin on generous loan to him by the Maestro Foundation. Eric is 4th chair cellist with the Seattle Symphony Orchestra since 2013.

Romanian virtuoso Alexandra Dariescu joins the orchestra for Grieg’s famous Piano Concerto, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser adored for its memorable tunes and dramatic flair. And, breathtaking visions of Rome are rendered with a palette of spectacular orchestral colors in Respighi’s beloved Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome.

Pianist Natasha Paremski returns to perform Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. This is the only Rachmaninoff work for piano which Natasha has yet to perform with The Syracuse Orchestra. The show opens with Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture and concludes with Respighi’s famous Pines of Rome.
