The three sailors Gabey, Chip and Ozzie have twenty-four hours ashore in New York. And they don't need to be told twice, because the big city doesn't come calling every day! In the city of great expectations, they soon find themselves on the subway, where Ivy smiles down from a poster as “Miss Subway of the Month” and has Gabey's head spinning. It immediately becomes clear to him that he has to find this woman in the urban jungle. Whatever may come! And so begins a fast-paced journey through the city, that never sleeps, but instead holds so many delights in store that each of the three men is soon chasing his own adventure...

Also featured are an elf who speaks with violin notes and a keen assistant who makes all the kitchen objects ring. Only together with them and the children does the mouse finally manage to soften the chef's heart.

The fifth opera written in Handel’s new home, London, Amadigi di Gaula, is an exuberantly inventive work with brilliant musical ideas full of youth, love and magic. The sorceress Melissa loves the knight Amadigi. But he loves Oriana, who in turn is coveted by Amadigi’s friend and rival Dardano. The four figures stumble around in a labyrinth of deceptive images and feelings and run the risk of losing not only their way, but above all themselves. Hurt and filled with hate, Melissa uses all her magical powers to destroy the inclination of Amadigi and Oriana for one another. She plots, lies, begs, flatters and threatens death and torture. But love is victorious in the end.
