Violinist Desirée Ruhstrat, cellist David Cunliffe, and pianist Marta Aznavoorian are known to the CMMB audience for their successful performance in October 2021 as the Lincoln Trio. Ruhstrat, Cunliffe, and violist Aurélien Fort Pederzoli make up the critically-acclaimed Black Oak Ensemble, one of the leading string trios on the international scene. When the two trios combine (yes, in this case, 3 + 3 = 4!), they become the superlative CHICAGO PIANO QUARTET.

Join us for "An Evening of French Music" on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 7:30pm CST at the Galvin Recital Hall. This enchanting evening will feature Bienen faculty violinist Desirée Ruhstrat alongside special guests Aurélien Fort Pederzoli on viola, David Cunliffe on cello, and pianist Henry Kramer. Together, they will present a program filled with French favorites, showcasing compositions by Henri Tomasi, Maurice Ravel, Han Lash, and Gabriel Fauré.

Desirée Ruhstrat, renowned for her performances with prestigious orchestras and her recordings with the Grammy-nominated Lincoln Trio, will be joined by her Black Oak Ensemble colleagues and the award-winning pianist Henry Kramer. This event promises to be a memorable night of music, highlighting the rich and diverse repertoire of French chamber music.
