In honor of Eduardo Vilaro" class="css-u850">Eduardo Vilaro’s 15th season as Artistic Director of Ballet Hispánico, the programming will feature the World Premiere of Buscando a Juan, Eduardo Vilaro’s new work inspired by the Met exhibition of Juan de Pareja, Afro-Hispanic Painter, that explores sancocho, a mixed soup of cultures and diasporas; the restaging of Mad’moiselle, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s exploration of iconic male/female images and gender identity in Latin American cultures and her first major work under Vilaro’s tenure; and 18+1, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s celebration of the vulnerability, care, and hope that comes with each artistic endeavor.

Returning after Dona Peron’s triumphant reception in 2022, Ballet Hispánico brings the premiere of CARMEN.maquia, a Picasso-inspired contemporary take on Bizet’s beloved classic by choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano. Ballet Hispáncio return to Curve for LET’S DANCE INTERNATIONAL FRONTIERS 2025 with their electrifying reimagining of CARMEN, a contemporary take on Bizet’s beloved classic. The physically charged and sensual choreography fuses contemporary dance with nods to the Spanish paso doble, flamenco and movement of the Latin American Diaspora.
