Big Daddy Kane is one of hip-hop’s most lyrical, diverse, innovative, trendsetting MCs, and the first to bring the “playa” element to the game. 

The Grammy Award-winning baritone was the first rapper ever to twice sell out the world famous Apollo Theater, and his rapid fire, metaphorical battle rap style continues to be a thing of legend. Rolling Stone named his song “Ain’t No Half-Steppin’” 25th on The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time in 2012. In 2005, the VH1 Hip Hop Honors elevated him to legendary status by officially honoring him. Kane’s influences include Marvin Gaye and Grand Master Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers.
