Redwood Symphony is delighted to begin its fifth decade by celebrating the 100th birthday of – and with – our friend, Kirke Mechem, featuring his “The Jayhawk, Magic Bird Overture!” The orchestra is also celebrating the power of virtuosity and showmanship with two superstar vehicles: Prokofiev’s powerful Second Piano
Concerto with Daniel Glover and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.

Halloween Concert: Musical Pictures

It’s the spirit of Christmas through the power of song. Choral Artists presents a program that is spirit-filled with music featuring traditional favorites with harp and chorus plus a vibrant collection of African American Spirituals that define the season. The contrast of toe-tapping music with the angelic sounds of the harp create a mosaic of musical sounds that give new meaning to the Christmas season.
