Nia was born in Cardiff and began learning the violin with Marion Mattison at the age of 7.  After studying with Nina Martin during 6th form she won a McMyn scholarship to Manchester University where she studied with Peter Cropper, leader of the Lindsay String Quartet.  During her undergraduate years she was presented with wide-ranging opportunities, including leading the University’s symphony and chamber orchestras, playing with the new music ensemble and leading a string quartet which received weekly coaching from members of the Lindsay String Quartet.

It begins at Vyšehrad Castle, the old seat of the Bohemian kings, and continues along the great Vltava River that flows below the old castle. In the last movement, the magical mountain Blanik is depicted, which contains a sleeping army. When the need is greatest, the sleeping knights will wake up and save the Czech Republic from the enemy.

Shortly after its formation in 2019, the Trio Bohémo‘s talent and deep musicality became apparent. They received numerous awards: first, they caused a stir at the Gianni Bergamo Award in Lugano, Switzerland, where they were awarded second prize. Due to this success, the trio was accepted into the “Le Dimore del Quartetto” network, which later awarded them the Ensemble of the Year 2021 prize. In the same summer, they received several special prizes at the “ISA Festival ” in Austria, such as for the best interpretations of Viennese Classical Music, work by Bohuslav Martinů and the Czech Contemporary Chamber Music. A few days later, they won first prize in the “International Filippo Nicosia Award” in Italy.
