Silent film specialist Clark Wilson returns for Walt Disney Concert Hall’s annual Halloween concert, performing a chilling, original organ score to the 1922 Nosferatu—one of the most influential works in cinema and the horror genre—live to picture.

Who doesn’t like scary shows, especially around Halloween?  The LO will take you on a frightening musical tour with a brand-new score to a terrifying classic film. Longtime collaborator with the LO, composer Sebastian Chang, will debut a chilling new film score for the iconic horror flick, Nosferatu. Join us for a truly horrific and unique musical evening!

Our Festival this year carries the title “Journeys of Faith”. Through a series of panel discussions pairing Jewish and Black pastors and clergy, our Festival sponsors and partners will seek to connect those Louisvillian communities through discussions of faith and life experience. Their goal is to enable a better understanding of one another and achieve connection through a renewed foundation of relationship. Musically the LO will explore the music of Jewish composer Leonard Bernstein and an important work by Joel Thompson based on the words of African-American writer James Baldwin. American music will welcome two brand new compositions to its ranks from our Creators Corps members, TJ Cole and Tyler Taylor.

Classics: Festival of American Music 2 - Journeys of Faith

The LO will explore the music of Jewish-American icon Leonard Bernstein and an important work by composer and educator Joel Thompson based on the words of African-American writer James Baldwin. The concert will also showcase the world premiere of Creators Corps Composer Tyler Taylor’s Revisions for saxophone ensemble and orchestra.

Coffee: Festival of American Music 2 - Journeys of Faith

Franz Schubert’s second piano trio—rich in thematic ideas, constant transformations and ingenious details—is a formidable challenge for musicians. Trio Barclay’s stunning musicality will be fully on display as they bring their interpretive style and musical precision to bear on this compositional masterwork.
