Carolyn Wonderland has more than earned her reputation as a fiercely independent artist. Fans love her for her dynamic guitar playing, formidable songwriting, and pure Texas vocals. Wonderland plays original, bluesified, cosmic soul music, mixed with heavy doses of Tex-Mex and riff-fueled rock ‘n’ roll. Moreover, she has been performing professionally since age fifteen and has led a colorful and adventurous life. She has spent her entire career on the road, playing with icons from Townes Van Zandt to Levon Helm. Also, she’s worked with Buddy Guy, Hubert Sumlin, Bob Dylan and John Mayall, all while writing her own story.

Carolyn Wonderland exhibits the depths of the Texas blues tradition with the wit of a poet. She hits the stage with an unmatched presence, a true legend in her time.  She’d grown up the child of a singer in a band and began playing her mother’s vintage Martin guitar when other girls were dressing dolls. She’d gone from being the teenage toast of her hometown Houston to sleeping in her van in Austin amid heaps of critical acclaim for excellent recordings.
