Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane.

For 30 years the KSO has offered free education programs to schools throughout Northern KY.    This program focuses on the musical instruments that comprise a symphony orchestra. Instruments are heard individually, in families and as part of the entire orchestra. “Getting to Know You” addresses some central music core concepts about instruments and how they make sounds. The Q & A session following the concert gives students and teachers the opportunity to ask questions of any musician or the conductor.  The program is also available via live-stream.   Children have access to a comprehensive program as the KSO alternates “Getting to Know You” (An introduction to instruments of the orchestra) with “Back in My Day” (the history of the orchestra and its music).

Set in the 1860s, The King and I is a beautiful and classic musical based on the true story of an English widow, Anna Leonowens, who travels to Siam with her young son to teach the King’s many children. The King is largely considered to be a "barbarian" by those in the West, and he seeks Anna's assistance in changing his image, if not his ways. Through her kindness and persistence, Anna eventually connects with the King, helping to fuel mutual feelings of social understanding, cultural acceptance, and openness.
