This is a Christmas spectacular like no other as Down for the Count’s 30-piece big band with strings is one of the largest swing bands currently touring the UK. Directed by conductor and compère Mike Paul-Smith and featuring some of the UK’s top vocalists and instrumentalists, the Orchestra recreates the sounds of Nat ‘King’ Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday in a uniquely joyful and engaging performance which has endeared the ensemble to audiences up and down the country.

Hollywood for the Holidays!

British baritone Rodney Earl Clarke captured every heart when he starred in the Halle’s Christmas Concert a couple of years ago. We couldn’t wait to bring him back, so here he is with a sack full of treats for the festive period, including operatic and Hollywood favourites, as well as some chestnut-roasting seasonal classics. Our master of ceremonies is genial conductor Stephen Bell, who’ll be taking us through a roll call of Christmas hits from Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov and heartwarming movie music from Home Alone to Frozen. And as it’s Christmas you can enjoy some good old-fashioned audience participation singing along with White Christmas and trying to keep up with the reindeer in Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride.

Celebrate the holiday season with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra at the "125 Strong - Holiday Celebration" event. This special concert is set to take place on December 16, 2023, from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center, located at 929 Jackson Street, La Crosse, WI 54601.

The evening promises a magical lineup of holiday music, featuring compositions such as Nigel Hess's "A Christmas Overture," the enchanting "O Little Town of Bethlehem" arranged by Leroy Robertson, Mel Tormé's classic "The Christmas Song," and the lively "Sleigh Ride" by Leroy Anderson. The concert will also showcase "Hanukkah Festival Overture" by Lucas Richman, "We Three Kings" with Aaron Schwartz on violin, and a selection from Charles Gounod's St. Cecilia Mass, featuring soprano Emily Birsan, tenor Matt Curtis, bass Matt Boehler, and a special LSO Anniversary Chorus led by Prof. James Wilson. The evening will conclude with a festive Holiday Sing-Along arranged by John Finnegan and Samuel Adler.

Enhance your experience with pre-concert live music in the FSPA lobby, starting at 6:30 pm, followed by a Concert Preview with Maestro Alexander Platt at 6:45 pm in the Viterbo Dance Studio. After the concert, join us for Cookies & Coffee with the Maestro, featuring treats from Meringue and coffee from Moka. The celebration continues with a Post-Concert Party at La Cav from 10:00 pm until midnight, offering specialty drinks and savory snacks.

Dee+Shapeera are a sibling pop duo known for their vocal versatility, powerful vocals, and sharp harmonies.They grew up singing together with their family and have drawn inspiration from their Pop, R&B, Gospel, Motown, and Jazz roots. Dee+Shapeera have always been actively involved in music, tracing back to childhood, through high school and college, and even receiving formal training as a classically trained mezzo soprano and alto. They formerly sang in a group with their sisters “The Davis Sisters.” Now located in the Las Vegas area Dee+Shapeera use their musical talents to sing throughout their local community and around the country. Their wide range of vocal style and polished vocal presentation often have audiences excited for more.
