Ever since the 1970s, the artistry of pianist Kathryn Stott has won the hearts of audiences and colleagues alike. Now she’s decided to retire, and for this, her very last public concert, she comes home to the place where it all began: Liverpool. “I have enjoyed the most wonderful and fulfilling career,” she says. Tonight, Kathy plays the pieces she loves best of all, as she bids farewell to the concert stage and looks forward to a new chapter in a remarkable career.

Following a long and highly successful career as both a solo and a collaborative pianist, as well as a festival and concert series programmer, Kathryn Stott has decided to step down from public recitals from the end of this year – though many of her other creative activities will continue. Wigmore audiences will be delighted to partake in this special celebration of her exceptional artistry in her last London recital appearance.

Concert pianist Kathryn Stott has delighted Buxton International Festival audiences for years.

Huijae (Esther) Lee is a South Korean pianist from Cheongju who has won numerous competitions in Korea, including the Young Soloists Competition and the Min Classical Music Competition in 2018. In 2021, she won second prize at the 22nd Korean Chamber Orchestra Competition, and she received an honorable mention in the Krannert Debut Artist Competition in 2022. In addition, Lee was named the Illinois State MTNA Young Artist Piano Performance Competition winner and also selected as an alternate for the MTNA East Central Division Competition. Most recently, she has been named the Krannert Debut Artist for 2023 and also received an honorable mention in the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.
