Guitarist Stephane Wrembel celebrates legendary "Gypsy jazz" musician and composer Django Reinhardt. Considered one of the preeminent master guitarists specializing in the Reinhardt style, Wrembel’s music incorporates jazz, blues, classical, swing, flamenco and rock. Called “perhaps the most creative improviser in Gypsy jazz today” by The New York Times, Wrembel will be joined by by world class musicians for this unforgettable evening of music.

For this very special show, Stephane Wrembel and his band—Josh Kaye on guitar, Ari Folman-Cohen on bass, and Nick Anderson on drums—will be joined by Nick Driscoll on tenor sax/clarinet and acclaimed improvisational pianist, Jean-Michel Pilc in celebration of the release of a triptych of three CDs—Phase I, II and III—that he recorded in collaboration with Pilc. The collection includes new compositions by both Wrembel and Pilc.

Widely considered one of the masters of the Django Reinhardt style, French guitarist Stephane Wrembel’s music has expanded to incorporate jazz, blues, classical, swing, flamenco and rock ‘n’ roll. He immersed himself in Django’s native Sinti culture (a Western European Roma group), learning from Sinti guitarists Angelo Debarre and Serge Krief. Wrembel then pursued studies at Berklee College of Music and has since been in New York City, becoming a renowned artist, bandleader, composer and producer.

Stephane Wrembel Quartet / Tatiana Eva-Marie & Avalon Jazz Band

Stephane Wrembel is one of the most highly regarded guitarists in the world specializing in the style of legendary composer/guitarist Django Reinhardt. Born in Fountainebleau, France, he learned his craft traveling the French countryside before graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston. He has had a remarkable career, toured the world, while releasing 17 albums under his name and the nom de plume The Django Experiment.  In May of 2023, he released Django New Orleans, recorded with his New York City-based specialty group under the same name receiving rave reviews for the album and live performances.
