“Pooh’s Christmas Miracle in the Hundred Acre Wood” is a staged radio play by local playwright, Scott F. Mason, for the child in every adult who loves a good story. On Christmas Eve, a group of thespians meet at a radio station to voice this sequel to “A House at Pooh Corner.”  The story (narrated by Kanga and Roo) is set in 1965 and it has been decades since Christopher Robin said “goodbye” to his fluffy friends.  His famous plush toys now sit in the window of the adult real life C. R. Milne’s bookstore. They have not had an adventure since the 1920s until on Christmas Eve morning when a shy young American girl, Emalina, spies Pooh and friends in the window. The girl suddenly finds herself lost in the famous woods with them, and fears Santa won’t find her for Christmas. Pooh and company have no understanding of Santa or the holiday’s meaning until they are enlightened by a legendary story from Eeyore. Pooh and Eeyore, joined by Owl, Rabbit, Tigger, and Piglet, all set out to bring their new friend a Christmas miracle and embrace the joys of friendship. Meanwhile, as the voice actors present the story, they share thoughts about the almost tragic history of  A.A. Milne’s legacy; and we learn about their own reflections about the holiday season, from its stressful expectations, to the true meaning and spirit of Christmas.
