The program includes a world premiere by Noah Jenkins, an LA Phil commission that promises to explore a range of sonic landscapes, from drones to audio phenomena. Missy Mazzoli's bass concerto, "Dark with Excessive Bright," borrows its title from Milton’s "Paradise Lost" and offers a journey through centuries with a blend of new ideas and influences. The evening will also feature Donnacha Dennehy’s piano concerto "Limina," a work that pushes the boundaries of the instrument.

Performers for the night include the LA Phil New Music Group, with John Adams conducting, Eliza McCarthy on piano, and Christopher Hanulik on bass.
