Ottorino Respighi's tone poems, "The Fountains of Rome" and "The Pines of Rome," depict the culture and landscape of Italy's capital city with powerful orchestral imagery. The evening culminates with Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Piano Concerto No. 2," a Late Romantic masterpiece known for its unforgettable melodies, performed by the Grammy-nominated pianist Joyce Yang.
