Join us for an exquisite recital featuring the talented participants of the Curtis Summer Organ Intensive. This event showcases the exceptional skills of young organists who have undergone rigorous training and mentorship from renowned faculty members, including Alan Morrison, Leon Schelhase, Jonathan Coopersmith, former faculty member Matthew Glandorf, and Wanamaker Grand Court Organist Peter Richard Conte.

The three choirs of the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir program sing with remarkable beauty of tone, expression, and spirit that is their hallmark. All three perform on Friday, with the spotlight on the Young Artists. On Saturday and Sunday, the Children’s Choir gives an expanded program, and the Tour Choir previews its summer tour repertoire.

Through the duration of the camp, students will experience a series of organ lessons, and will also tour various organs around the city and the surrounding area, including the Wanamaker organ at Macy’s.

Critically acclaimed for his “colorful and thrilling playing” (The American Organist) and “unsurpassed technical virtuosity” (The American Organist), Atlanta native Alan Morrison reveals his exceptional musicianship in masterful performances of music both familiar and new.

Through the duration of the camp, students will experience organ lessons with Mr. Morrison, Peter Conte, and Matthew Glandorf. They will also tour various organs around the city and the surrounding area and have the opportunity to play the Wanamaker organ at Macy’s.

Alan Morrison holds the McGehee Organist Residency at Spivey Hall, where he recorded his 2021 ASA Digital Recording release. Florence Price – Virtuoso and Poet. Alan is head of the Organ Department at the Curtis Institute of Music and College Organist at Ursinus College.
