For Immediate Release – New York, NY – On February 25th at 7:30pm, Composers Concordance presents The Sound Liberation Trio, with Gene Pritsker – guitar, Adam Holzman – moog/synth and David Cossin – drums in a program of eclectic trio compositions. Joining the trio in this performance are trumpeter Franz Hackl and trombonist Dick Griffin as well as poets Imelda O’Reilly, Erik T. Johnson, Robert C. Ford, John Pietaro and Jim Kempner. The group will perform Gene Pritsker’s and Adma Holzman’s compostions for the trio instrumentation combined with modern poetry as well as compositions by Jan Hammer, Carman Moore and Dick Griffin.

For Immediate Release – New York, NY – On February 17th at 7pm, Composers Concordance presents Memory Palace Ensemble in a concert featuring new music for two horns, violin, cello, and electronics. Gene Pritsker’s work for Di.J and ensemble, entitled ‘Memory Is Deceptive Because It Is Colored By Today’s Events,’ will be premiered as well as Benjamin Louis Brody’s Anthem Gravitas. Also included on the program are compositions by Dan Cooper, Bernhard Eder, Machiko Ozawa, Zachary Paul, Gene Pritsker, and David Taylor. Joining the ensemble in their own compositions will be bass trombonist David Taylor and violinist Machiko Ozawa.

‘The Orders’: Tasos Papastamou – violin/composer, Erik T. Johnson – poet/narrator and Gene Pritsker – composer/guitar present a concert of music by Papastamou and Pritsker. The event will feature Pritsker’s chamber music including the premier of ‘The Rock At The End Of the World’’ for narrator violin, guitar and Samplestra (pre-recorded electronics); and the dramatic work ‘The Orders’ by Papastamou and Johnson. The Orders follows a day in the life of Bright-Eyes, a spirit summoned from death by an unknown force into our world–much as we wake daily to go about our ordinary lives in search of ways to bring meaning to our existence. Through a series of encounters with her past and present, she moves towards the revelatory purpose behind her return.
