Tasting Notes concerts offer a relaxed concert format with a curated tasting of wine and cheese. The second Tasting Notes concert features prose and original music and arrangements for quartet with harmonica celebrating the spirit of African American migrants through the lens of Marion Hayden’s family.

The Alluvion World Music Series presents Ancestral Haiku an interactive performance that weaves together live original music, dance, video projection and original artwork. Part performance, meditation, and ritual, Ancestral Haiku explores Black Ancestry, the Middle Passage, and engages the work of poet/scholar Mursalata Muhammad. Detroit jazz legend Marion Hayden and Legacy join dance artist and U-M faculty Robin Wilson, with artwork and video installation by M. Saffell Gardner.

JAZZ 4 ALL! Featuring: Jeff Haas, Marion Hayden, Laurie Sears, Anthony Stanco, and Tariq Gardner

Native Detroiter and protégé of one of the strongest eras of the Detroit jazz scene, Vincent Chandler, the trombone master, has put together an electrifying band for this Jazz Series show. Compiled of some of Detroit's most exciting, young musicians, The Vincent Chandler Experience will be blurring the lines between jazz and electric fusion in the best possible way. Although this is not Vincent's Alluvion debut (he played with the incredible octet last year at our MLK Day concert) it will truly be a fresh, bold first for this band on our stage. A do not miss!
