From October 5th to 15th, 2023, the Boston Ballet will present an exquisite program featuring four remarkable ballets, each offering a unique exploration of movement, music, and emotion.

The Fall Experience lineup includes Akram Khan's "Vertical Road," a mesmerizing piece inspired by the Persian poet Sufi. With a pulsing score by Nitin Sawhney and billowing costumes by Kimie Nakano, this ballet delves into the earthly and divine aspects of human existence. Hans van Manen's "Trois Gnossiennes" invites audiences to explore the intricate relationship between music and dance through a stunning pas de deux set to Erik Satie’s masterful piano work. Jorma Elo's "Bach Cello Suites" combines classical foundations with contemporary flair, featuring ten dancers and a solo cellist in a breathtaking display of choreographic innovation. Lastly, Boston Ballet Artist My’Kal Stromile presents his mainstage debut with "Form and Gesture," a bold exploration of classical ballet movement reimagined for today's world.

Performances are scheduled from October 5th through October 15th, with evening shows at 7:30 pm and matinees at 1:30 pm. The event will take place at the prestigious Citizens Bank Opera House, ensuring an unforgettable experience in a venue known for its grandeur and elegance.

The Boston Ballet extends its gratitude to Barbara and Amos Hostetter for their outstanding support, as well as to Lisa and Tom Blumenthal, two anonymous donors, the Sylvia T. Pope Artistic Fund, and the Robert Ho Sherblom Dancer Fund for making these productions possible.

Triumphant unites COCA’s Pre-Professional dance companies as they take their season-ending bows and COCA’s graduating seniors grace the stage one last time. Triumphant highlights the versatility of our young artists as they present 12 dance works across three unique programs. Throughout the year, the dancers experience creative development residencies with guest artists including Justin Conte, Tom Gold, My’Kal Stromile, and Omari Wiles. Bringing new work to premiere at COCA, each guest artist mounts their piece specifically for COCA dancers and collaborates with COCA’s production team to fully realize the work.
