The WashU Jazz Band will perform a wide variety of tunes written for the large jazz ensemble, featuring tight ensemble work and outstanding student soloists.  Selections include student compositions, modern settings of jazz standards, and original tunes composed specifically for the contemporary big band.

The Royal Danish Orchestra’s chamber concerts present celebrated masterpieces alongside rare gems of the chamber music repertoire. Throughout the season, the orchestra’s musicians perform chamber concerts in the historic theatre setting of the Old Stage. Audiences also enjoy the opportunity to experience them up close in the Takkelloftet Foyer, with its stunning view of Copenhagen Harbour, as well as in the elegant balcony foyer of the Old Stage.

Prepare to be mesmerized by a program filled with blues and jazz standards, alongside original compositions, all brought to life by the incredible vocals of Thomasina Petrus and the vibrant sounds of the Selby Avenue Brass Band. The lineup for the evening includes Larry Sims and Gerard Ahlgren on trumpet, Marilyn Parker on saxophone, Chris Fulton on trombone, Nathan Norman on drums, and Tom Wells on tuba, who also serves as the composer and arranger for the group.

The evening's program features an eclectic mix of music, including pieces like "Elder Funk" and "I See the Latin in You" by Tom Wells, "Bring it Back" by Catherine Russell/Brownwick, "Take Me To The Alley" by Gregory Porter, and classics such as "Saint James Infirmary Blues" and "Summertime" by George & Ira Gershwin/Dubs Heyward, among others.
