Bassoonist

The seminal indie-art group Clogs lives on through the work of two of its founding members: bassoonist Rachael Elliott (Longy faculty) and percussionist Thomas Kozumplik (Loop 243), who perform together as EK Duo. Their music lurks between-the-cracks of new music, improvisation and songwriting. It is loose-fitting music – some notated, some improvised. The result is a deeply personal sound that is entwined in friendship and represents the voice of each musician involved.

Longy School of Music of Bard College

Divergent Quartet, an ensemble composed of Longy performance faculty and new music specialists Eric Hofbauer (electric guitar), Rachael Elliott (bassoon), Rane Moore (clarinet), and Seychelle Dunn-Corbin (saxophone), presents a program of premieres written by composer participants at Longy’s Divergent Studio. These works were written specifically for the festival and will have been workshopped with the ensemble over the course of the previous week.
