Signature Theatre proudly presents the DC premiere of "Where the Mountain Meets the Sea," a poignant and beautiful musical that explores the parallel journeys of a father and son. This evocative production runs from May 21 to July 7, 2024, and is a must-see event that promises to touch the hearts of its audience.

The story unfolds after a son learns of his estranged father’s death and decides to recreate the cross-country trip his Haitian immigrant parents embarked on before he was born. As he follows in their footsteps across America, bonding with the music his father adored, the boundaries of time blur, bringing them closer together. This lyrical narrative, accompanied by an evocative folk score, drives the father and son toward a rediscovery of love, each other, and their unbreakable bond.

"Where the Mountain Meets the Sea" is written by Jeff Augustin, known for his work on Apple TV’s "The Morning Show," and directed by Timothy Douglas, celebrated for his direction of Signature’s "The Color Purple." The production features a talented cast including Isaac Deacon as Izzy Bell, Jonah by Robert Cornelius, and Jean by Rob Morrison, with music direction by Rob Morrison and a creative team that brings the story to life with stunning scenic, costume, lighting, and sound design.

The show is recommended for mature teens and up, addressing themes such as sex and adult language, and will utilize theatrical haze.
