Local favorites Steve and Allison Martin join HSO for festive selections from The Nutcracker, Leroy Anderson’s classic Sleigh Ride, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” and some of the Martins’ favorite songs, including “The Prayer,” “O Holy Night,” and “Ave Maria.”  Rounding out the family-friendly concert will be the audience favorite “Christmas Singalong,” full of well-known holiday carols! Steve and Allison are well known in West Michigan, having sung on opera stages and musical productions locally and around the country.  Allison received her Masters of Music from Michigan State University.  Steve holds a doctorate and master’s in music from Michigan State University.  He has taught at the college level and is now Director of Music and Fine Arts at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.

Step into a world of enchantment and wonder as Sinfonia Smith Square perfoms a live orchestral soundtrack to the family-favourite film, ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’, shown on the big screen.

The sequel to the beloved 1982 classic ‘The Snowman’, ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ is a heartwarming animated short film, lively and joyful in nature.

The Holiday Concert is sure to be a blast! Along with your favorite Christmas carols you’ll hear delights from Johann Strauss to John Williams. You might raise your eyebrows hearing Minors Alterations by David Lovrien, who called his medley “Christmas Through the Looking Glass.” Our concertmaster Christina Wu will indulge you with the gorgeous Meditation from the Opera Thais by Jules Massenet and stormy Winter from Vivaldi’s Seasons. Additionally, per CSO tradition, we are proud to welcome some of the best high school music students in our area to perform side-by-side with the orchestra during the Sunday Holiday Concert.

Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit with the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony's enchanting "Sounds of the Season" concert. This festive event is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the First Church OKC, located at 131 Northwest 4th Street, Oklahoma City, OK, 73102, United States.

The evening promises to be a memorable one, starting at 6:30 PM with a complimentary hot chocolate bar to warm your spirits. Attendees will also have the opportunity to complete their holiday shopping at a silent auction, with all proceeds supporting the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony.

The concert will feature a diverse selection of holiday music, including pieces by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Leroy Anderson, and more. Highlights include a special concerto designed to be performed on Christmas night and musical sleigh rides composed by five different composers, offering a unique auditory journey through the season's joy.

The program includes:

- CORELLI: Concerto grosso in G minor, "Christmas Concerto"
- LEROY ANDERSON: Sleigh Ride

- TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA/arr. Bob Philips: A selection of holiday classics

Under the baton of Music Director & Conductor Kaleb Benda, alongside the talented Musicians of the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony, this concert is set to be a heartwarming event that celebrates the essence of the holiday season.

Admission is free, and the concert will last approximately 90 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.
