From his beginnings as a teen prodigy, to his groundbreaking solo work with Shanachie Records, to his founding of Irish-American powerhouse band Solas, to his current work as one of the leading composers and interpreters of the tradition, Seamus Egan has inspired multiple generations of musicians and helped define the sound of Irish music today. His work as a film composer and musical director of countless live shows has allowed Egan to experience music’s unique ability to tell stories. And what season is more about stories than the season of Christmas! Tradition, ritual, and collective memory, all come together in Seamus Egan’s Good Winter: A Celtic Christmas with Moira Smiley and Yann Falquet. Songs of the season, original songs, traditional and original music, poetry and spoken word seamlessly weaving together to create an intimate story full of joy, humor, and reverie. Combining fiddle, flute, whistle, guitar, banjo, piano and piano accordion with vocals to raise the rafters in celebration, Seamus Egan’s Good Winter: A Celtic Christmas is sure to brighten the darkest midnight. We invite you to “push the old year against the wall and welcome in the new” and celebrate the holiday season with us! We are excited to have Seamus joined by Moira Smiley, an American singer, composer, and musician who performs on banjo, accordion, piano, and body percussion, as well as Blackstone River Theatre favorite Yann Falquet who plays guitar and sings with the Quebecois group, Genticorum.

Join us for an enchanting summer evening with the "London By Night St Clement's Community Choir" at the historic Jerwood Hall, LSO St Luke’s, on Saturday, 13th July 2024, at 7:30 pm. This special concert promises a delightful celebration of music for voices and piano, featuring a diverse and joyful program that brings together the St Clement’s Community Choir, supporters, local community, friends, and guests in a harmonious gathering.

Under the baton of conductor Emily Dickens, the choir will perform a captivating selection of pieces, including works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Charles Villiers Stanford, Thomas Morley, Alexander L’Estrange, Elaine Hagenberg, and Eric Whitacre, alongside traditional arrangements and contemporary classics from ABBA, Dusty Springfield, and more. The evening will be a celebration of diversity in thought, music, and community, reflecting the choir's ethos of welcoming all singers, regardless of their experience, from the EC1 area and beyond.

Tickets are priced at £15, with a concession rate of £12, and a booking fee of £1.50 per online or phone transaction. The concert is expected to conclude at approximately 9 pm, though timings are subject to change.
