The At First Sight New Work Festival's 2024 showcase production is a brand new musical with book, music, and lyrics by third year MFA playwriting candidate David Davila. In Vox-Pop! a Post-Democratic Musical, a group of rebel troubadours is surrounded on all sides by the deadly forces of an oppressive regime. In their last few moments of freedom they have only one chance left to pass along the tale of Vox Populi, a sacred secret that tells of the rise and fall of a great mythical society. Can they pass along the legend to their children before they're captured, and save future democracies from corruption? Or, is there no such thing as democracy without corruption?

When Liliya finds herself at her lowest, she must return to the home she flew away from so many years before and a m'other she never wished to see again. Can she repair herself in the same place that originally broke her? A twisted take on the Rapunzel story, starring a series of organs, a worm who lives under a bed, and a couple of great falls.
