The concert will feature a diverse program starting with Jacob Gade's "Tango Tzigane," famously known as the most celebrated tango worldwide. Following this, the audience will be treated to the exquisite music from Astor Piazzolla's tango-opera "María de Buenos Aires," a piece that truly deserves wider recognition for its compelling beauty. Anders Eliasson's "Kimmo for Trumpet and 6 Percussion" will then take you on a thrilling journey, showcasing the exceptional talents of the CBSO's brass and percussion musicians. The climax of the afternoon will be a powerful performance of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," arranged by Howarth, bringing the visual arts to life through sound.
