The JACK Quartet—hailed by The New York Times as “fearless” and “one of contemporary music’s indispensable ensembles”—returns (after making their Festival debut in 2025) to premiere commissioned works by the two participants in the Festival’s 13th annual Young Composers String Quartet Project and to play two exciting works they commissioned for their Modern Medieval program, which explores “the connections of musicality and thought between European composers of the past and the voices of American music today.”

Hudson Valley Chamber Music Circle (HVCMC) celebrates its 75th anniversary season and launches its signature June Concert Series with the award-winning Balourdet Quartet.  Returning for the second consecutive year following its highly acclaimed HVCMC debut, the Balourdet will perform well-loved chamber music classics by Haydn and Smetana, alongside new works by Paul Novak and Nicky Sohn.

The American Composers Orchestra (ACO) represents endless possibility. To date, the ensemble has performed works by more than 800 American composers—a stunning number that becomes even more amazing upon seeing the list of names. Its first concert of the Carnegie Hall season includes world premieres by rising composers Paul Novak and Kebra-Seyoun Charles, who joins on bass. ACO welcomes guitarist Mak Grgic in a New York premiere by Michael Abels, who won a 2023 Pulitzer Prize for his work with Rhiannon Giddens. The orchestra also performs the New York premiere of Ukrainian composer Victoria Poleva’s The Bell with cellist Inbal Segev, who premiered the piece in 2023 with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

“The New Virtuoso“ is a series of programs featuring works that defy genre expectations for a solo instrument, and in doing so carve out novel texture, affect and technique in Symphonic composition. This program features works that question the nature and effect of political, gender, and ecologic borders, and how we as humans move and migrate in reaction. With conductor Mei-Ann Chen on the podium, this concert features guitarist Mak Grgik, cellist Inbal Segev, and violinist Curtis Stewart.  ACO will perform three commissions by Kebra-Seyoun Charles, Paul Novak, and Curtis Stewart, alongside works by Michael Abels and Victoria Polevá.
