The evening will commence with Johannes Brahms' "Double Concerto for Violin and Violoncello in A minor, op. 102," a piece that symbolizes reconciliation and showcases the talents of violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott. Following an interval, the audience will be treated to Béla Bartók's "The Miraculous Mandarin, op. 19 Sz 73. Suite," and Boris Blacher's "Orchestral Variations on a Thema by Paganini, op. 26."

Andrés Orozco-Estrada, renowned for his previous performances with the BRSO, including Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, now brings his passion for concertos for multiple soloists to the stage with Brahms’s Double Concerto. This piece, originally intended as a cello concerto before Brahms added a part for solo violin, was a gesture aimed at mending his friendship with the famous violinist Joseph Joachim.
