Experience an extraordinary evening of classical music at the "Conciertos Extraordinarios" event, part of the Ibermúsica 2024-2025 season. This special concert will take place on Sunday, 9th February 2025, at 19:30h in the prestigious Auditorio Nacional de Música de Madrid. 

The program promises an eclectic and thrilling lineup of compositions, featuring works by Klengel, Blacher, Williams, Rota, Gershwin, Shearing, Tiziol/Ellington, Dean, Giraud, Salgán, Kaiser-Lindemann, Piazzolla, and McCartney. From the stirring "Hymnus" by Klengel to the timeless "Yesterday" by McCartney, the evening is set to be a memorable journey through classical and contemporary music, including pieces like "Catch me if you can" by Williams and "Fuga y Misterio" by Piazzolla.

Tickets are available for purchase, with prices including a 10% VAT but excluding handling fees, which will be applied at the time of payment. Ibermúsica reserves the right to modify the program if necessary and promises to provide a substitution of equal or superior quality in the event of an artist's inability to perform. The concert will start promptly at 19:30h, and late entry will not be permitted.

Join us for an extraordinary musical experience as Andrés Orozco-Estrada leads the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in a special concert series at the Munich Residence, Herkulessaal. This exceptional event will take place over two evenings, starting on Thursday, April 7, 2022, and continuing on Friday, April 8, 2022, both performances beginning at 8:00 pm.

The program for these special concerts features a captivating selection of works that showcase the depth and versatility of the orchestra under the baton of Orozco-Estrada. The evening will commence with Johannes Brahms' "Double Concerto for Violin and Violoncello in A minor, op. 102," a piece that symbolizes reconciliation and showcases the talents of violinist Renaud Capuçon and cellist Daniel Müller-Schott. Following an interval, the audience will be treated to Béla Bartók's "The Miraculous Mandarin, op. 19 Sz 73. Suite," and Boris Blacher's "Orchestral Variations on a Thema by Paganini, op. 26."

Andrés Orozco-Estrada, renowned for his previous performances with the BRSO, including Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, now brings his passion for concertos for multiple soloists to the stage with Brahms’s Double Concerto. This piece, originally intended as a cello concerto before Brahms added a part for solo violin, was a gesture aimed at mending his friendship with the famous violinist Joseph Joachim.

Kensington Symphony Orchestra returns to Cadogan Hall to perform Nielsen’s Fifth Symphony (1922), likened by the composer to “the division of dark and light, the battle between evil and good”.

Alternately explosive and calm, the work features a famous battle between the orchestra and a snare drummer, who is instructed to improvise “as though determined at all costs to stop the progress of the orchestra”.

KSO is joined by former BBC Young Musician keyboard finalist Firoze Madon for Grieg’s much-loved Piano Concerto (1868), written when the composer was just 24. A lyrical Andante is bookended by a dramatic Allegro and an energetic Finale, both featuring motifs influenced by Norwegian folk music.
